Opening Day

I had the privilage of going to the Red Sox home opener with my friend Jim today. The day was sunny and cold, the Sox received their World Series rings and also won the game, and the company was top notch. A great day.

Members of the Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots were there with The NBA Championship Trophy, the Stanley Cup, and the Super Bowl trophies, along with the two World Series trophies. I'm not sure they have all been in the same place at the same time before today.

Bill Buckner returned and threw out the first ball, the Boston Pops provided the music, Steven Tyler sang God Bless America, and Neal Diamond appeared on the big scoreboard screen to sing Sweet Caroline and announce that he will do a concert at Fenway Park in August. We take it for granted, but some major league teams have never had a day like today, and never will.

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. It comes into us at midnight very clean. It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself into our hands. It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.

Overtime

We're closing in on midnight. Kansas hit a three pointer with 2 seconds left, and the NCAA basketball championship game has gone into overtime. Will it end before I have to post this blog?

Yes! Kansas wins 75-68 in overtime. Congratulations to Megan and Julie for picking the winner.
